New charity partner announced by Bristol Airport

Bristol Airport has announced that the Great Western Air Ambulance will be the airports charity partner for 2019 following a vote by Bristol Airport staff. During 2018, staff and passengers raised approximately £20,000 for the local charity Children’s Hospice South West, based in North Somerset.

Initiatives through the year included volunteer collections in the terminal, raffles, cake sales, a Christmas jumper day and with Bristol Airport team members participating in the Bristol 10k and Santa on the Run event around the Harbourside, Bristol.  Since the charity partnership began a total of £200,000 has been raised for the local charity through staff and passenger donations.

Bristol Airport Spotting also raised in excess of £2000 for Childrens Hospice South West through the various aviation fairs and spotting days previously held within the Administration building at the airport.

Bristol Airport also supports annually the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal which in 2018 raised over £4,000 for the charity with generous donations by passengers and staff in the terminal.
