Six aircraft spotting events held throughout 2026 have raised an impressive £1,924.71 for Bristol Airport’s Charity of the Year, Children’s Hospice South West.
Bristol Airport Spotting, in collaboration with Bristol Airport, has raised £1,924.71 for Children’s Hospice South West following a successful programme of six aircraft spotting events held between April and September 2026.
The events welcomed a total of 300 aviation enthusiasts throughout the season, with attendees travelling to the airport to enjoy a unique opportunity to watch aircraft movements from the roof terrace of Bristol Airport’s administration building.
Each event provided spotters with an elevated view across the airfield, offering excellent opportunities to watch aircraft arriving and departing, as well as the many ground operations taking place throughout the day.
Six Events, One Fantastic Total
The fundraising total was built up across all six events, which took place in April, May, June, July, August and September.
With 300 people attending across the season, the events proved to be a popular opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to come together while also supporting a great cause.
The £1,924.71 raised will support Children’s Hospice South West, which provides hospice care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families across the South West.
A Unique Spotting Experience
Held on the roof terrace of Bristol Airport’s administration building, the events offered visitors a perspective of the airport that isn’t normally available to the public.
From the elevated position, attendees could watch aircraft arrivals and departures while also observing the various ground operations taking place across the airfield.
Bristol Airport staff were also present at each event, giving visitors the opportunity to meet members of the airport team, hear about current and future developments and discuss subjects including aircraft spotting and airport access.
