easyJet, Europe’s leading airline, has launched its first flights from Bristol Airport last week to Milan, Biarritz and Brindisi, giving passengers in the south west the opportunity to explore even more of Europe this summer.
easyJet’s first flight from Bristol to Milan Malpensa airport in Italy took off on Monday 1st July and kicked off a week of inaugural flights, with the first flight to Biarritz in France taking off on Tuesday followed on Wednesday by the airline’s first flight to Brindisi, also in Italy.
easyJet expects to carry more than 36,550 passengers across these new routes this summer. The new destinations are expected to prove popular amongst travellers looking to enjoy sightseeing, world-class shopping and lively nightlife in Milan; experience incredible surfing off the long sandy beaches of Biarritz on France’s Basque coast; or soak up the historic architecture in the Adriatic port city of Brindisi.
easyJet has now launched five routes at Bristol this summer; inaugural flights to Montpellier in France and the Greek Island of Rhodes launched in June.
This week the airline also began operating an additional daily flight between Bristol and Paris, providing even more opportunity for customers to enjoy a city getaway to the French capital and a convenient schedule will allow for great value day trips for commuters from businesses across the south west.
The growth in easyJet’s Bristol network is being supported by the arrival of a 17th aircraft at the airline’s south west base this summer, meaning that easyJet will offer 10% more flights compared to summer 2018.
easyJet is the largest airline at Bristol and now operates up to 774 flights a week from Bristol across 74 routes and expects to fly over 5.2 million passengers this year.
