What proved to be a surprise to aviation enthusiasts and spotters today was the arrival of the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner which operated a flight to Cape Verde for TUI Airways.
The aircraft, G-TUIJ Boeing 787-9, named “Pixie Dust” departed around 12.30pm for its 5 hour flight to Espargos, in the Cape Verde islands after positioning in from Manchester earlier this morning.
This is the first time a Boeing 787-9 has flown to and from Bristol Airport, it is unclear at this stage if this will be a regular sight, but this does show that other airlines that operate the same aircraft type could fly from Bristol Airport.
