We have been contacted by Bristol Airport to share information about an upcoming road closure.
North Somerset Council (NSC) have advised us they will be completing essential road maintenance resurfacing work on Downside Road for 4 weeks (weekdays only) between the hours of 08.00h – 20.00h commencing from Monday 5 September 2016.
During the above times no vehicles will be able to access the Airport via Downside Road to enable to work to be completed safely. Downside Road will be re-opened each day. A temporary road surface with 20mph speed restriction signs will be in place and vehicle access will be possible but with caution. Between the hours of 08.00h – 20.00h the 3 way traffic lights at the junction with Downside Road and the A38 may be switched off.
Diversion signs will be in place along the A38, A370 and B3133. The diversion route will be via Brockley Combe Road, A370 (Main Road, Rhodyate Hill, Bristol Road), B3133 (High Street, Brinsea Road, Stock Lane), A38 (Bypass, Station Road, Redhill, Bristol Road) and vice versa.
Reasonable access to properties and businesses will be maintained and the diversion routes will be clearly signed.
Please be aware and share as appropriate, and please advise to allow additional travel time whilst the works are taking place.
Please contact North Somerset Council directly if you experience any issues.
