easyJet continues growth in Bristol with more aircraft and routes

easyJet carried a record number of passers to and from Bristol in its 2025 financial year, 2% more compared to last year, and the airline continues to be the number one short-haul airline at the airport.

This comes as easyJet today reported 9% earnings growth in FY25 with a headline profit before tax £665 million.

easyJet holidays beach packages to Spain, in particular Majorca, Costa Blanca and Tenerife, were the top destinations for holidaymakers from Bristol in 2025, while Amsterdam, Krakow and Paris proved popular for city break packages.

The airline has also confirmed further growth at its Bristol base, with an additional A320 Neo aircraft set to join the fleet from next summer, enabling the airline to offer customers even more choice for flights and holidays across Europe and beyond.

The expansion will also support the local economy, with each UK-based aircraft supporting around 400 direct and indirect jobs and £27m UK gross value added (GVA).

New routes to Bari, Cape Verde, Reus, Seville and Thessaloniki will also take off next summer meaning easyJet now offers an expansive network of 83 routes from Bristol.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet UK Country Manager, said:

easyJet’s continued success in the southwest is a clear testament to the continued popularity of our flights and holidays, with a record six million customers choosing us in our 2025 financial year for our trusted brand, unrivalled network and great value fares.

“The growth of our fleet with an additional neo aircraft in Bristol will not only support around 400 jobs but is enabling us to further unlock the opportunity of the demand that we see for both leisure and business travel.

“We are already capturing this opportunity with the launch of five new routes next summer, offering customers greater choice, exceptional value across our unrivalled short-haul network and, in our 30th year, still always aiming to make travel easy.”

Rupert Lawrie, Commercial Director at Bristol Airport, said:

“Through our long-term partnership with easyJet, customers have benefited from a variety of destination choices, enabling them to fly direct from their local Airport.

“These routes have also helped to connect family and friends as well as support local tourism.

“Having a 20th aircraft based at Bristol Airport is a great addition, as it will provide more jobs for local people and is a welcome boost for the local economy.

“It’s particularly great news that easyJet are choosing to base another of their Airbus A320 Neo at Bristol Airport. These new aircraft are quieter and more efficient and show a strong commitment to helping Bristol Airport achieve sustainable air travel in the future. It also shows commitment to the local communities that we are encouraging airlines to base their newer and quieter aircraft here at Bristol Airport.

Since launching operations at Bristol in May 2001, easyJet has carried over 80 million customers and offers 83 routes to 25 countries.

Following the launch of easyJet holidays summer 2026 season, beach holidays and city escapes are on sale right up to the end of October 2026.
