TUI Dreamliner leaves Bristol Airport for the first time in 7 months

Yesterday (19th October 2020) the TUI Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner G-TUIE departed Bristol Airport for the first time in 7 months after being parked on the ramp unable to operate any flights due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The summer 2020 season would have seen the aircraft operate flights to Greece, Spain, Orlando and Mexico but was parked up in March 2020 and only was moved to perform 2 engine runs for maintenance purposes.

The aircraft, G-TUIE, is currently 6.5 years old and was delivered to TUI in June 2014 with space for 244 passengers, in 2016 it was reconfigured for 253 passengers to cope with busy summer schedules ahead. The Covid-19 pandemic has seen many airlines suffer by shedding staff, pilots and aircraft.

TUI currently has 2 Boeing 737’s and a single Boeing 757 based at Bristol Airport and at the time of writing this article we are unsure on how the Winter schedule looks for Bristol Airport.
